The Braves are expected to hold their spring training home games at Turner field on April 3 and April 10.
Braves general manager David Stearns said the team plans to have its spring training facilities and practices available to fans who need to watch the games, including those who don’t have cable.
The Braves will host a free MLB Network app-only stream on April 1, with the majority of the streaming content expected to be from the Braves’ television broadcast partners, including the Braves, Fox Sports Atlanta, FoxSports North and MLB Network.
Fox Sports and MLB will be airing live coverage of Braves spring scrimmages and other major league events in the spring, including spring training games and MLB games.
The Braves will air their regular-season opener against the Cleveland Indians on May 5 and the team’s May 15 game against the San Francisco Giants.
The spring training schedule will also include a two-game series between the Braves and the Atlanta Braves, with a one-game game at Comerica Park, and two games at Busch Stadium, a major league ballpark owned by Atlanta Braves.
Atlanta Braves spring game broadcasts will also air on ESPN, which will air a Braves-based telecast.
In addition, the Braves have agreed to a deal to broadcast MLB Network games, which means that the network has agreed to air some MLB games live and some live-streamed games, with some games also scheduled to be simulcast by other network partners, the Atlanta-based network said.
Atlanta-based broadcaster and FOX Sports broadcaster Kevin Burkhardt said the Braves are thrilled to be a part of the new MLB Network, which is the first major league team to be able to deliver baseball games live.
“I’m excited for this opportunity to share this opportunity with all fans in Atlanta, and I’m also excited to see how this team plays,” Burkhardt told Fox Sports.
“It’s a good fit for me as a broadcaster and for the network to be part of it.”
The Braves play their first spring training game on Sunday, April 3 against the New York Mets.
Atlanta’s Spring Training Camp schedule for the 2017 season is still being finalized, but Burkhardt has said that he expects the team to hold spring training practices and games at the Braves Spring Training Complex in Philipsburg, Ga.
